Greetings and Salutations! (I always liked that…it’s from Charlotte’s Web.)
Out of 28 daily radiation treatments, I’ll have 15 done as of today. 54% done with radiation. YAY!! And I’ve completed 3 out of 5 weekly chemotherapy treatments. Only 2 more to go!
Since my treatment began, I think I’ve fared pretty well. I haven’t had any issues with the radiation and just some fairly minor side effects from the chemo, mainly fatigue and slight nausea. Although yesterday, Monday, I had some issues with additional nausea and headaches. I’m working from home today so a big THANK YOU to my team and co-workers – they are awesome!
To answer my brother-in-law Jim’s question…Nope – I haven’t lost my hair. But as my brother Kevin pointed out…none other than what has been falling out naturally for years. So far so good, but I’ll keep you posted.
For those who have never had radiation therapy (I hope and pray you never have to) or have never seen how it works, this time-lapse video shows what goes on during the treatment. It’s actually pretty amazing. And not just because I’m the star.

Huntsman Cancer Institute is a phenomenal hospital. They go to significant lengths to ensure patient comfort in a very calming environment. Keep tuned and I’ll post some pictures of the folks I meet with and the beautiful hospital itself.
Thank you to all of you for your thoughts, prayers, and kind words. It means the world to me.
